A Perfect Circle's Billy Howerdel: Hear Haunting New Solo Song "Selfish Hearts"

Ahead of his first solo album in 14 years and a massive summer tour

A Perfect Circle guitarist Billy Howerdel is gearing up to release his debut album under his own name, marking the first solo record he'll have released in a long 14 years. In March and mid-May we heard two new songs, "Poison Flowers" and "Free and Weightless," respectively, and today he's offered up a third cut called "Selfish Hearts." Like the last two, it's a gothy synth-pop tune with smokey plumes of keyboards, a skittering drum machine beat and a sonorous vocal delivery from Howerdel. Take a listen above via YouTube.

"No matter how many different track listings I tried, 'Selfish Hearts' always felt like the right song to welcome listeners to What Normal Was," Howerdel said of the song. "Sometimes a chord change can give me chills. 'Selfish Hearts' does that for me."

The full album, What Normal Was, arrives June 10th via Alchemy Recordings/Rise Records/BMG and is available for pre-order here.

The day after it drops, Howerdel will embark on a massive summer tour, presented by Revolver, that'll trek all over the U.S. and up into Canada with his newly-announced support act VOWWS. See the full list of dates for that below.
