Rage Against the Machine, Def Leppard Nominated for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

2019 frontrunners also include the Cure, Radiohead and MC5

2019 nominees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony have been announced, and this year's eclectic list includes nominees like Eighties hair-metal champs Def Leppard and, returning for another shot after a nomination in their first eligible year, political rap-rockers Rage Against the Machine. Witchy rock goddess Stevie Nicks is currently leading the fan vote polls just ahead of Leppard, with goth forefathers the Cure and Sixties psych-pop outfit the Zombies trailing a bit behind.

Rounding out the list are several traditionally "rock" acts alongside more left-field nods like pop icon Janet Jackson, country star John Prine, and new wavers Devo. In conjunction with the fan poll running now through December 9th, over 1,000 historians, journalists, members of the music industry, and previous inductees will be balloted to determine the final list of members who will receive the historic honor next March 29th in a ceremony to be held at Brooklyn, New York's Barclay Center.
