Rammstein have refuted widely circulated reports that frontman Till Lindemann has contracted coronavirus. The source of the story was German newspaper Bild, which claimed that the singer had tested positive for the illness and was rushed into the intensive care unit of a Berlin hospital. However, according to the band, Lindemann was, in fact, hospitalized yesterday, but was cleared of the coronavirus.
In a brief post on Facebook, Rammstein stated, "Yesterday evening Till Lindemann was admitted to a hospital on the band's doctor's advice. He spent the night in intensive care but has been moved as he is feeling better. Till has tested negative for the coronavirus."
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and resulting restrictions, the last three dates of the singer's Russian tour with his side project Lindemann (in Perm, Kazan and Voronez) were canceled last week. Rammstein's summer dates in Europe and North America are still scheduled to proceed.
