UPDATE: Revolver's exclusive Coloring Book vinyl sold out in less than an hour.
ORIGINAL STORY: Back on February 13th, 2011, Long Island post-hardcore trailblazers Glassjaw released their cult-classic EP, Coloring Book, which was initially given away exclusively on the group's tour in March of that year, intended as a preview of the band's third album. That planned LP didn't came to fruition at the time — the band wouldn't release a new full-length until 2017's Material Control — and Coloring Book has since become an elusive artifact from Glassjaw's history.
Now, to commemorate the EP's 10th anniversary, Coloring Book has finally hit digital streaming platforms for the first time, and it's newly available again on vinyl — but not just any vinyl. Known for consistently innovative marketing and products, Glassjaw offered the Coloring Book EP vinyl package as different colored discs to construct a full 12-inch vinyl, each size made to be interchangeable to make as many as 120 different combinations of the same record. They've been sitting on a limited batch of those records and, as part of the 10-year anniversary celebration, have released them today, February 15th.
That limited batch is available exclusively via the band's store and Revolver's store, plus those of our friends at Saint Vitus, The Hard Times and Brooklyn Vegan. The Revolver, Saint Vitus, Hard Times and Brooklyn Vegan vinyl comes in an exclusive brown gatefold. A bundle with a limited-edition, hand-numbered Serigraph is also available. Get yours now before they're gone!
In addition to the vinyl and digital releases, Glassjaw have dropped a new music video for EP standout "Gold." Directed by Torey Champagne and originally recorded 10 years ago, the clip features the A-Team Step Group, who were New York's premiere step team at the time. The almost lost footage is spliced with more recent Glassjaw performances to the backdrop of an array of colors. Watch above.
