See Alice in Chains' Stunning "Would?" Performance on 'BBC' in 1993

One of the grunge-metal band's first sets with bassist Mike Inez

Alice in Chains' sophomore album, Dirt, is packed to the gills with stunners. The band's 1992 release saw them refine their grunge-metal formula into groundbreaking and eternally gratifying gems like "Rooster," "Them Bones," "Rain When I Die," "Down in a Hole" and of course, "Would?", its spine-tingling closer that they performed flawlessly during a BBC appearance in 1993.

The fledgling superstars guested on the British TV show, Later... With Jools Holland, on May 7th of that year, and played through "Would?" with the cool swagger of a band in their absolute prime. Notably, it was one of their first-ever sets with bassist Mike Inez, who had just replaced founding bassist Mike Starr but already played like an essential piece of the tight-knit unit.
