Underoath's Aaron Gillespie also appears in uplifting and timely clip

One of the standout cuts off Atreyu's 2018 album In Our Wake was the emotive power ballad "Super Hero," which features guest vocals from Avenged Sevenfold's M. Shadows and Underoath's Aaron Gillespie. The song was intended as a celebration of what it means to be a good parent, but in light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, it's taken on new and even more urgent resonance. With that in mind, the band has offered up a cinematic, black-and-white video for "Super Hero," which, like the song itself, sees Shadows and Gillespie making impactful cameos. Watch above, and check out the group's comments on the new clip below. Sidelined from the road like all their fellow touring artists, Atreyu are currently working on their eighth album, due out via Spinefarm Records later this year.

"Our song 'Super Hero' was written about what it's like to be a parent and the vast amount of time, effort, energy, and hard work it takes to be a real-life superhero for your children," the band commented in a joint statement. "The song also has a broader meaning, especially given the current situation the entire world is dealing with. There are many superheroes out there who appear in many forms — namely the first responders, medical personnel, and health care workers who are putting others first as they work to fight COVID-19 and to save lives. We dedicate this song to them."
