See Avenged Sevenfold Deliver Heartfelt "Exist" Acoustic Performance

Band debuts video of 'The Stage' closer filmed during 2017 Grammy Museum set

In October of 2017, Avenged Sevenfold took the time to perform a stripped-down acoustic set of some of their biggest songs at the Grammy Museum in Los Angeles, which they eventually released as a live album. Having already shared their "Hail to the King" performance from that night, today, they've released a video for their reworking of "Exist," which originally appeared on 2016's The Stage.

Their acoustic performance reveals various song parts in a new light, namely that Synyster Gates provides some pretty excellent backing vocals to the song's chorus. As the song draws to its conclusion, a string section joins in to give the song more weight. The inclusion of a string section makes the song sound out of time, like some melancholic desert-epic of the Seventies. It's a great distillation of the 15-minute original, and an excellent showcase of the band's talents.
