See Black Magnet's Nightmarish Video for Scorching New Industrial Song "Hermetix"

One-man industrial project unveils insanely heavy new single from sophomore album

In 2020, industrial visionary James Hammontree released his debut album as Black Magnet, and in just a few weeks, he'll be back with its follow-up, Body Prophecy. The fact that it's being released on the venerable extreme-metal label 20 Buck Spin is a testament to Hammontree's particularly excoriating and texturally scalding brand of metallic machine music, a style of industrial so heavy and twisted that everyone from diehard Nine Inch Nails zealots to death metal junkies can get behind it.

Today (July 7th), we're stoked to be premiering the album's second single, "Hermetix," along with its utterly disturbing music video that suits the song's nightmarish mood perfectly. It's the kind of music that makes you question if your computer's hard drive is corrupted — loud, sonically demented, lyrically abrasive, and totally fucking liberating. Watch and listen above via YouTube.

"'Hermetix' deals with the ancient principles of Hermeticism examined in the occult book The Kybalion, among others," Hammontree says. "The song is about the physical body disintegrating and only the consciousness of the mind remaining."

Body Prophecy is out July 29th via 20 Buck Spin and is now available for pre-order
