See Bones UK Play Wild Live Set on Football Field for One Fan

A very unusual pandemic performance

"We had to find a way to do a show. We had to," Bones UK, a.k.a. vocalist-guitarist Rosie Bones, lead guitarist Carmen Vandenberg and drummer Heavy, tell us. But how do you do so in the age of COVID-19? "We figured the safest way to protect our fans is for our fans to keep a safe distance," the band continues. "The safest way to be safe is for no fan to be near another fan. So ... what about ... if there was just one fan?"

Thusly inspired, the swaggering hard-rock outfit held a radio competition to find said fan. Then they tracked down the biggest space they could: a high school football field. How did it all go off? "It was epic," Bones UK enthuse. But judge for yourself: We've teamed with the band today (February 1st) to premiere video of this very unusual gig, which finds Bones UK giving their all despite the minimal attendance. Watch above.

According to Bones UK, "RJ, the fan, said, 'It was better than going to a concert with a full audience,' so — although it might take a very long time and not be super cost-effective — maybe the 'one-fan show' will be the future of touring for us. Album cycles will take 10 years.

"It was the first idea of many 'problem-solving shows' we are exploring as part of our EARTHWALKERS tour, and in our opinions was a rip-roaring success. Thanks, Monster Energy, for making our wild ideas a reality."
