Vocalist Sophia Urista leads the way on flawless arrangement from politically charged big band

New York City political-activist outfit Brass Against are back with another Rage Against the Machine cover, this time taking on "Know Your Enemy" for the rap metal pioneers' 1992 self-titled album. Considered by some critics to be the standout track on that release, the song featured Tool and A Perfect Circle mastermind Maynard James Keenan on vocals during the bridge and Jane's Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins on accessory percussion.

Brass Against may not have had quite the all-star lineup for their rendition, but they called up frequent collaborator and former contestant on The Voice Sophia Urista to lend a masterful hand with lead vocal duties alongside solo artist Samuel Hope hopping in for Keenan's parts. The cover was headed up by the group's architects: guitarist Brad Hammonds and baritone sax player and musical director Andrew Gutauskas.

Flowing seamlessly from part to part despite the intricate responsibilities taken on by each individual musician, the track is another example of why Brass Against continue to carve out a unique and powerful niche in the world of anti-oppressive, socially conscious music. They are currently on The Resistance Tour with singer Maya Azucena, but will continue and on/off tour schedule now through August. Find dates and more information on their official Facebook
