Singer Sophia Urista channels Chino Moreno backed by horns ensemble

By now, you should be well aware of Brooklyn, New York, big-band collective Brass Against and their unfailingly badass covers of hard-rock songs by the likes of Tool, Pantera, Black Sabbath and Rage Against the Machine. For their latest horns-heavy reimagining, the ensemble has turned to Sacramento alt-metal titans Deftones and their milestone cut "My Own Summer (Shove It)," off the band's classic 1997 album Around the Fur. Singer and frequent Brass Against collaborator Sophia Urista takes up vocal duties, channeling Chino Moreno with aplomb, from his breathy croons to his hell-born screams, while the group squawks and wails behind her. It's a particularly impressive rendition of a song that hardly seems to lend itself to a big-band performance — watch it above.
