See Bring Me the Horizon Tap Spiritbox's Courtney LaPlante for Rare "Chelsea Smile" Performance

From an old-school deathcore set the U.K. band busted out at their Malta festival

It's cool enough that Bring Me the Horizon threw their own four-day festival in Malta over the weekend, which featured two headlining sets by them as well as performances by Bullet for My Valentine, Beartooth, Spiritbox, Motionless in White and more. But even cooler was that for their Saturday night set on May 28th, BMTH busted out a bunch of old-school bangers from their deathcore and metalcore days — including many tracks that they literally haven't played in well over 10 years — and invited fellow frontpeople like Spiritbox's Courtney LaPlante and Beartooth's Caleb Shomo to come share the mic with them.

For instance, they played "Liquor and Love Lost" and "(I Used to Make Out With) Medusa" — two deep cuts from their 2006 deathcore debut, Count Your Blessings — for the first time since 2008 and 2009, respectively, and cranked out three songs from 2008's Suicide Season, including "Sleep With One Eye Open" and "Diamonds Aren't Forever."

However, the crown jewel of the set was their run-through of Suicide Season standout, "Chelsea Smile," which featured Spiritbox's commanding frontwoman on the mic. It's one of the few songs from the band's old days that they still occasionally play, but hearing them do it with LaPlante's bellowing screams was a literal once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for those lucky fans.

Fortunately, there's footage on YouTube. Check it out above and below, and see the full setlist courtesy of Setlist.fm.
