Papa Roach's "Last Resort" is a genuinely heavy song that almost anyone born within the last 40 years, nu-metal fan or not, will recognize. In fact, the 2001 banger has permeated so far outside the heavy music sphere that even pop stars like Bruno Mars — the guy who sang "Uptown Funk," "Just the Way You Are" and countless other top 40 radio hits — recently covered it at a live show. Yes, really.

During a recent performance in Vegas, Mars and his Silk Sonic collaborator Anderson .Paak (a venerable crooner who's worked with Kendrick Lamar, Eminem and more) broke into a seemingly impromptu cover of "Last Resort," beginning with the shouted intro and going so far as to crank through the resounding chorus.

Based on the video snippet of the song posted to Twitter, it's unclear if they played the entire track from front to back, but it was a helluva lot more than just a simple sing-through of the hook, they were really up there jumping around and shouting and getting into it. Watch it go down below.
