Nu-metal hit gets violin-assisted mathcore facelift

The Callous Daoboys are one of our favorite young bands, and their latest album, Celebrity Therapist, ranks high on our Best Albums of 2022 list. Naturally, then, we were super stoked to see the Atlantan mathcore rabble-rousers covering one of our favorite long-running bands: alt-metal super stars Deftones.

Kicking off their final five shows of the year yesterday (December 01st) at Knoxville, Tennessee's LowerCase Books, the Daoboys turned their spasmodic talents to Around the Fur opener "My Own Summer (Shove It)." It was a fun, irreverent performance, complete with plenty of fan interaction and violin riffing, courtesy of the band's own Amber Christman. Watch fan-shot footage above.
