Max and Iggor give occult-inflected history lesson in new 'Psychosis' visual

Grab a pencil and paper, kids, and get ready to take notes: Sepultura's co-founding brothers Max and Iggor Cavalera are here to teach a trippy, occult-tinged history lesson in the form of their new music video for "Spectral War," off Cavalera Conspiracy's brand new Psychosis LP. Directed by tattoo artist Paul Booth, the clip doubles as an ear-splitting wartime retrospective, spanning centuries of violence. No crime against humanity goes unexamined — from the blood-soaked bigotry of the Crusades to the atomic carnage of World War II, the worst of mankind is on full display here (and also some pentagrams, too, because why not?).

Produced by Arthur Rizk (Code Orange, Power Trip, Inquisition), Psychosis is out today (November 17th) via Napalm Records. In a recent interview with Revolver, Max framed the record as a mix of old and new: "It's got everything, man. We have songs that sound like [the first Sepultura full-length, 1986's] Morbid Visions and [1989's] Beneath the Remains. There's the thrash element of [1991's] Arise. And then there's new stuff on there that sounds like the stuff we enjoy right now, like Full of Hell, Nails and Godflesh."

Below, watch Max Cavalera discuss the inspiration and meaning behind his battle vests:
