Pittsburgh metallers unveil 14-minute animated video to accompany new music

Code Orange have unveiled their next chapter. Tomorrow (February 17th), the Pittsburgh metallers will unveil a remix album called What is Really Underneath? that serves as a companion to their 2020 LP, Underneath. Bucking the traditional remix format, Code Orange didn't invite any other guest artists to recontextualize their songs; they did all of the remixing and re-interpreting themselves, as they revealed earlier this week in an interview with Kerrang!.

To go along with the album, the band have now unveiled a 14-minute animated short film that was helmed by guitarist/effects wizard Eric "Shade" Balderose. The video features Code Orange's cryptic "Mudman" character that they first introduced back on 2017's Forever, and the whole thing is soundtracked by portions of the accompanying remix record, which hits streaming services tonight at midnight.

For now, you can watch What is Really Underneath? (the short film) above via YouTube.
