L.A. industrialists tortured by grotesque monster in horrifying music video

Last year, we deemed L.A. industrial outfit CONTRACULT Collective an Artist You Need to Know based on their explosive singles, the original cuts "Hogtied" and "WDYT," and a re-inventive cover of Hole's grunge hit "Violet." The band — Svart (vocals, production), Culprit (guitar) and BX (synthesizer, backup vocals) — have only continued to up the intensity since then, as demonstrated in the horrifying video for their new song "Meek," which we're stoked to be premiering today (December 7th).

In this NSFW visual for the industrialized hard-rock banger, the band members are haunted by a terrifying manifestation of their vices, which appears in the form of an nude, androgynous, contortionist figure who shoves food and liquor in their mouths and maniacally reminds them of the behaviors that bring them shame. The makeup, camerawork, special effects and editing are really intense, so it basically functions as a mini horror movie with some awesome music soundtracking the scares. Check it out above via YouTube.

The song 'Meek' is about the vulnerability of addiction and mental health with the lack of accountability for one's actions within this mental state."

He continued," Since there is nothing more horrific than one's own personal demons, the band and Director Steven Roe wanted to present a narrative which visually displayed ours. ou will see our friend and talented contortionist/dancer Brynn Route force us to enact our vices of novelty and overconsumption of food and alcohol in a vacant motel room. While the content is triggering, we hope it proves to be as equally provocative as it is grotesque. You've been warned…"
