Industrial-metal crew offer up new single from upcoming album 'The New Torment'

A couple years back, we named Contracult an Artist You Need to Know for their gnashing industrial-metal rippers that lyrically confront the tension between body and mind. Since then, we've premiered several of their wild music videos, and today (September 13th) we're proud to premiere another for their new song "The Glutton."

Taken from their upcoming album, The New Torment, that's out in November, "The Glutton" is a ferociously heavy industrial-metal song that "reflects on the struggles of eating disorders, body dysmorphia and a rigorous exercise routine followed by binge eating," according to the band.

Unlike the extravagant video for their 2021 song, "Meek," Contracult chose a rather minimal approach for "The Glutton"'s visual, using disorienting camera angles to capture the band playing in an empty room, and relying entirely on vocalist Svart's intense facial movements to translate the song's tortured lyrics. It's electrifying as hell, and you can check it out above via YouTube.

The New Torment, mastered by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip, Code Orange, Cro-Mags, etc.), is due out November 4th.
