See Converge Drummer Ben Koller Recreate Famous 'Wayne's World' Music Store Scene

Garth Algar would be proud of spot-on performance

Fine percussion purveyors Zildjian have shared a hilarious homage to Wayne's World to mark the 25th anniversary of their popular A Custom model cymbals. The short video, which stars Ben Koller of Converge/Mutoid Man fame, recreates the famous "music store" scene from the 1992 film – more specifically, the part where Garth Algar (originally played by Dana Carvey) busts out a kick-ass drum solo. Koller's got a keen eye for the little details: he nails every last aspect of Carvey's classic character, from his Aerosmith t-shirt to his stoner bon mots. Now that's what we call a character study.

"When I retire, I may look back and see that mixing this drum solo was the peak of my career," proclaimed Converge guitarist and producer extraordinaire Kurt Ballou, who mixed Ben "Garth" Koller's thunderous performance. Check it out now – and speaking of Converge, be on the lookout for the band's new album The Dusk in Us, out November 3rd.
