See Corey Taylor Cover Bon Jovi With 'Supernatural' Star Jensen Ackles

Slipknot star tore through "Wanted Dead or Alive" at long-running fantasy show's official conference

Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor made a surprise appearance at the official Supernatural convention in Las Vegas last weekend, joining the fantasy series' star, Jensen Ackles, onstage for a cover of Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive." Fortunately, some very kind convention attendees uploaded video of their spirited performance to YouTube.

Bon Jovi's hit song, which Taylor has performed on past solo tours, has carried special significance for Supernatural fans ever since its inclusion in the third season's finale nearly a decade ago. At one point during the episode, the show's demon-fighting protagonists (one of whom is played by Ackles) sings along to "Wanted Dead or Alive" en route to their battle with the evil overlord Lilith.

Corey Taylor recently gave an update on new Slipknot music in an interview with Musik Universe, revealing that the follow-up to 2014's .5: The Gray Chapter will "absolutely" arrive next year and that he's already started writing lyrics.

"It's probably the most autobiographical I've been in years," he said of his work, "just for the fact that I've been through a lot the last few years, and I've been sitting on a lot. So I'm writing from the standpoint of where I am now instead of where I was, which is so easy to tap into sometimes, and it's so easy to just kind of go there almost on impulse; but now, I'm writing it from the standpoint of a man who's been through a lot — not just a young man, but an older man — and trying to figure things out."
