See Corey Taylor's Teenage Son Join Stone Sour for "Song #3" in Lisbon

"We're gonna do our very best, aren't we?"

Late last July, during a Stone Sour concert in Holmdel, New Jersey, Corey Taylor brought out his teenaged son Griffin, then 14, to handle vocal duties for the band's hit "Song #3." The youngster absolutely killed it behind the mic, delivering an athletic performance reminiscent of his dear ol' dad's early days. It wouldn't be his last time taking the reins for the Hydrograd single; Stone Sour's performance of "Song #3" in Lisbon, Portugal, last night (July 11th) also found Corey enlisting Griffin — who's been traveling Europe with the band on its present European tour — as the group's temporary frontman, Metal Injection points out.

"We've only ever done this one other time, and it was one of the best fucking nights of my life," the elder Taylor said of last year's pairing to the crowd at Coliseu Dos Recreios, moments before inviting his son onstage. "Griffin's gonna help us out on this next song — and we're gonna do our very best, aren't we?" Indeed they did — but given how Griffin's got a band of his own now, does the kid's prowess really come as any surprise?

In related Stone Sour news, the band has unveiled a short clip chronicling the creation of "Burn One Turn One," the recently revealed rarity off their forthcoming Hydrograd re-release. Check out the studio footage below. The aforementioned two-disc package — which comprises the original album, plus never-before-heard covers, B-sides, live recordings and alternate takes — hits shelves August 31st.
