Concerts are back, but things are still weird as hell — in a good way. Last night (June 20th), Foo Fighters performed at New York's Madison Square Garden for the venue's first full-capacity show since the pandemic, and in the middle of the set, the band were joined by comedian Dave Chappelle for a cover of Radiohead's "Creep."
As Pitchfork pointed out, the Chappelle's Show star has sang along to Radiohead's 1992 hit on numerous occasions — birthday parties, SNL appearances, as a duet with Ed Sheeran — but randomly appearing halfway through a Foo Fighters set to croon in front of 20,000 people has got to be the coolest one yet. After a dramatic introduction, the 47-year-old waltzed out to resounding applause before diving into the tune with Dave Grohl and Co. as his backing band.
To quote former American Idol host Randy Jackson, "It's a little pitchy, dawg," but Chappelle was clearly having a ball while the whole room screamed the words back in unison. Check out the full performance above via YouTube.
