See Dave Grohl's High-Flying Cover of Van Halen's "Jump"

Last year, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and eight-time Grammy winning producer Greg Kurstin celebrated the Jewish Festival of Lights with a series they dubbed Hanukkah Sessions, in which they covered eight songs by prominent Jewish artists — from Bob Dylan to the Beastie Boys. This year, they're doing it again, and after kicking off the series with a death-metal rendition of Lisa Loeb's "Stay" and covers of Ramones and Barry Manilow songs, the duo are honoring night four with their version of Van Halen's "Jump."

Unlike their crushingly heavy reinvention of Loeb's breezy folk-pop hit, the guys tread pretty close to the original composition for this take on the 1983 glam-metal mega-hit — save for one important instrumental swap. Instead of trying to replicate the late, great Eddie Van Halen's dazzling fretwork, Kurstin performs the song's staggering solo on a couple different keyboards, which is equally impressive to watch given the high speed and dense note tally.
