Hot off the announcement that they'll be joining Ozzy Osbourne's North American dates for No More Tours 2, Megadeth's Dave Mustaine has released a short clip previewing a new track by the band, singling out the incredible chops of drummer Dirk Verbeuren for 46 seconds of the percussive precision and lazer-like focus Mustaine is known for demanding from his musicians. "The cheshire cat is smiling!" he posted to Twitter yesterday, "Enjoy a lil tease."

Verbeuren joined the Megadeth crew back in 2016 after leaving Swedish melo-death outfit Soilwork to fill Lamb Of God drummer Chris Adler's shoes when he left the thrash legends to focus on his own group. He's also known for working with such metal heavyweights as Meshuggah's Fredrik Thordendal, Satyricon, Aborted, and the Devin Townsend Project.

Megadeth have been working on their as-yet-untitled 16th album, the follow up to 2016's Dystopia, for a while now, and are also launching Megacruise next year, featuring a curated lineup and several performances by the band themselves aboard a cruise ship that will traverse an as-yet unknown route in the Pacific Ocean.
