See DEFTONES' Chino Moreno join CYPRESS HILL for rowdy "(Rock) Superstar" in 2000

At Lowlands festival in Netherlands

In the summer of 2000, both Cypress Hill and Deftones were playing the Lowlands festival in the Netherlands, so naturally the alt-metal trailblazers' frontman Chino Moreno had to join the West Coast hip-hop OGs for a performance of their guitar-heavy hit "(Rock) Superstar." The song had just come out that spring, appearing on that April's Skull & Bones album, and featured guest shots from Moreno as well as House of Pain's Everlast.

Stepping out incognito, the hood of his Thrasher hoodie over his head, Moreno delivered the spoken-word intro to the song, then joined B-Real and Sen Dog in spitting rhymes, bellowing the chant-along chorus and generally bouncing around the stage like they're insane in the membrane. The crowd went wild, of course, and it all made for a raucous, infectiously feel-good moment. Flashback above via pro footage filmed by Dutch TV.
