See Dillinger/Extol Supergroup Azusa Take on False Idols in New "Monument" Video

Progressive metal collective unleashes second single off forthcoming LP

Multinational, polyrhythmic and genre-crossing, progressive metal supergroup Azusa burst onto the scene in 2018, garnering headlines in large part due to its members' collective résumé, which features impressive names including the Dillinger Escape Plan, Extol and Sea + Air. Having established their own name on the strength of their full-length debut, Heavy Yoke, Azusa are now back with an imminent follow-up LP, Loop of Yesterdays, due out April 10th via Solid State. Today (February 7th), they've teamed with Revolver to unleash the mystical, sepia-toned music video for its propulsive and dynamic second single, "Monument."

"'Monument' is a mid-tempo banger about false idols, hypocrisy, and the shortcomings of faith systems as a one-size-fits-all recipe for the 'correct' ways of living," the band members explain in a joint statement. The video sees the group thrashing and contorting as they tear through the song, shrouded in smoke; in intercut footage, a mysterious robed figure worships and exalts inside a old, orthodox church.

Watch and listen above. Loop of Yesterdays is available for pre-order now.
