This week, the NOLA sludge supergroup Down — a.k.a. Pantera's Philip Anselmo, Corrosion of Conformity's Pepper Keenan, Crowbar's Kirk Windstein and Eyehategod's Jimmy Bower, plus bassist Pat Bruders — will be playing a handful of rare U.S. shows, beginning with Florida's Welcome to Rockville festival on May 19th and then continuing on with stops in Atlanta and Dallas. On May 17th, the band posted footage on their Instagram of the intimate rehearsal they were doing to get ready for the big shows,
Even though they were couped up in what appeared to be someone's basement space — forcing Anselmo to be singing from a side room while his bandmates jammed in a tight circle — the group sounded fucking awesome while ripping through "Lifer."
