See Evanescence Play First Show With New Lineup

Live debut of Sick Puppies' Emma Anzai on bass and longtime bassist Tim McCord on guitar

Last night (June 5th) in Athens, Greece, Evanescence kicked off their spring/summer European tour. Making the show particularly momentous, it marked the group's first live performance with their new lineup, specifically, new bassist Emma Anzai (Sick Puppies) and new guitarist Tim McCord, the latter of whom switched over from his longtime spot on bass, replacing guitarist Jen Majura.

"We've been friends and fans for years, and the time has finally come to join forces," Evanescence stated of Anzai, when breaking the news of her addition in May. "Emma will be pulling double duty as we have some shows with Sick Puppies coming up soon, so get ready for that!"

Regarding McCord's move to bass, the band commented, "After 16 years in the band as our rock solid bass player, Tim is taking a turn on his original instrument. Spoiler alert- he's great at it."

As for Majura, following the news of her departure, she clarified on social media: "I feel the need to address that none of this was my decision! I have no hard feelings against anybody and I wish Evanescence all the best. I am allowed to carry beautiful memories of these past years, I am grateful."

Evanescence's debut set with their latest lineup saw them tearing through 18 career-spanning songs, from their smash hit "Bring Me to Life" to 2021's "The Game Is Over." Watch fan-shot footage above and below, as well as the full setlist.
