See Evanescence's Amy Lee, Halestorm's Lzzy Hale Duet on "Break In" in Quarantine

Studio recorded version of collaboration to be released this summer

Evanescence singer Amy Lee and Halestorm vocalist-guitarist Lzzy Hale go way back. The two musicians have toured together, performed together, dueting on the latter band's "Break In," and become good friends over the years. Yesterday afternoon (May 8th) Hale welcomed Lee onto her show Raise Your Horns With Lzzy Hale, on which she's previously interviewed Shinedown's Brent Smith and Skid Row's Rachel Bolan, for a loose, unfiltered chat. The two also performed a beautiful quarantine rendition of "Break In" from their respective locations, and revealed plans to release a studio version of the collaboration in August that had been recorded pre-lockdown. See video of yesterday's performance above, and watch Hale's interview of Lee below, starting around the 44:00 minute mark.

Also on Lee's slate is Evanescence's first album of original material in nine years, The Bitter Truth, which they're planning to offer up "one piece at a time" this year. The first piece came in late April, in the form of lead single "Wasted on You," the group's first new song in three years. Evanescence also unveiled the song's DIY music video, which was filmed by each band member — Lee, guitarists Troy McLawhorn and Jen Majura, bassist Tim McCord and drummer Will Hunt — on their iPhones while in quarantine.
