Local station WFLA captures death-metal guitarist in anti-suicide vest at bail hearing

Following his arrest for breaking into a Florida home and charging at an officer with a knife, Cannibal Corpse lead guitarist Pat O'Brien appeared in court today with his wrists and ankles chained together, wearing an anti-suicide vest. Local Florida news channel WFLA issued a report on what they described as the "bizarre case" involving one of the "most popular death-metal guitarists in the country," and included footage of the musician in court looking shaken and disoriented.

According to the report (which you can view above), the judge made it clear to O'Brien that he would have to take a drug test in order to be released on bond, which is set for $50,000 for the charges of burglary of an occupied dwelling and aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer. The guitarist is currently in jail in Hillsborough County, and more details around the case are expected to emerge. Cannibal Corpse are scheduled to join Slayer on the latest North American leg of the thrash OGs' farewell tour; no word yet on how this situation might impact those plans.
