Shredder joined Dave Grohl at latter's 2015 birthday celebration

To celebrate the shared birthday of high-profile rockers Dave Grohl and Zakk Wylde today, January 14th, have a look back on their joint performance of Black Sabbath classic "N.I.B." from the former's 46th birthday party in 2015. The concert was a "surprise" benefit at Los Angeles venue The Forum and featured several notable guests such as Paul Stanley, Alice Cooper, David Lee Roth, and even Lemmy Kilmister, who would succumb to cancer later that year.

Grohl's performance with Wylde stood out though, as not only do the famous friends share a birthday, but Wylde has plenty of practice nailing his vocal and guitar parts on the Sabbath tune, in no small part to his 30-plus year collaboration with Ozzy Osbourne and his leadership of tribute band Zakk Sabbath.

The two, along with Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, deliver an true-to-form rendition of the 1970 song surrounded by the audience, "in the round" style. Grohl takes over bass duties while Wylde gives out his best Ozzy impression, and the seven-minute performance ends on a high note with the ever-enthusiastic Grohl grinning his way through the final notes.
