Frances Bean Cobain, child of late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain and Hole singer Courtney Love, has decided to show the world the musical gene runs in the family. After releasing an a capella original earlier year along with covers of Jimmy Eat World and Leonard Cohen covers on her official Instagram page, the talented singer is slowly revealing her natural abilities with a new video for an untitled original featuring her her singing as she strums along on an acoustic guitar.
Captioning the clip "What she lacks in technical precision, she makes up for with charisma," Cobain's voice emotional delivery hints at a softer edge to her own music in contrast with her parents' respective places among grunge and punk history.
With over a million followers on the social media platform alone and plenty of buzz generated in the day since posting the clip yesterday, Cobain will surely have no issue getting her material formally out in the world should she choose to do so. She even has the backing of Smashing Pumpkins singer Billy Corgan, who said recently during an Instagram Q&A that Cobain "has a huge future if she wants it as an artist. She is smart, cool, and super talented."
