See Frayle's Freaky Video for Haunting New Song "Skin & Sorrow"

Smokey title-track from Candlemass-approved doom band's new album

Frayle's witchy doom-metal has been a favorite at Revolver HQ for several years now, and the Cleveland duo fronted by Gwyn Strang are only getting better. Today (April 4th), the band have announced that their sophomore album, Skin & Sorrow, will arrive this summer on Aqualamb Records, and we're stoked to be premiering the freaky video for its awesomely haunting and dirgy title-track.

Frayle's enchanting sound falls somewhere between the low-and-slow gaziness of bands like King Woman and Cloakroom and the more classic doominess of Earth and YOB. "Skin & Sorrow" is eerie and ethereal for its first half, but slowly lets more crunchy fuzz into the fold that builds up to a detonating finish with gobs of spiritual atmosphere. All of Frayle's videos are fucking gorgeous, and this one — self-directed by the band — is no exception, with all sorts of wide-angle shots and freaky outfits. Watch and listen above via YouTube.

"Our first single, 'Skin & Sorrow' is very personal to me," says Strang. "It's about watching someone close to you dying and how empty and useless you feel. It can seem like all that's left of you is just skin and sorrow."

Skin & Sorrow is out July 8th via Aqualamb Records and you can pre-order it here. Below, check out their run of April tour dates, including a couple shows with the legendary Candlemass.
