Last night (May 21st), at Zénith de Rouen in Le Grand-Quevilly, France, Ghost kicked off the European leg of their 2023 Re-Imperatour run and, in the process, played their first show of 2023.
Papa and the Ghouls pulled out all the stops for the momentous gig, tearing through an epic 20-song set and unveiling some new onstage looks (including Papa's svelte red coat) and an even more amped-up production (think pyro aplenty).
The massive set included two live debuts: the first-ever performances of Ghost's Genesis cover, "Jesus He Knows Me," and the closing track of the group's latest album Impera, "Respite on the Spitalfields," which served as the cap of the main, pre-encore portion of the show.

The U.S. leg of the Re-Imperatour — with support act Amon Amarth — launches August 2nd in Concord, California. Check out the full itinerary here.
