See Ghostemane's Poppy-Directed Video for New Rager "Lazaretto"

Crash test dummies, bondage, monsters and more

Considering their similarly genre-smashing approaches to music and penchant for transgressive visuals (and the fact that they're engaged to be married), it was probably only a matter of time before Ghostemane and Poppy started collaborating. Enter the hyper-kinetic music video for the former's pummeling new single, "Lazaretto," which was directed by the latter. The song — a bold mash-up of rap, hardcore and industrial metal — is the second single off Ghoste's forthcoming eighth full-length, ANTI-ICON, and it's perfectly paired with Poppy's visual, a riveting nightmare that captures its star throwing down with a band of crash test dummies while eerie cartoon creatures prowl a shadowy underworld. ANTI-ICON is due out October 21st and also includes the lead single "AI." According to Ghoste, the LP encompasses "the rise and fall. Ecstasy in pain. The fragility of the quiet moments after the crash. The deafening silence filling your brain, forcing you to scream it away. The battles raging inside you. That's the sound of ANTI-ICON."
