See Ghost's New "Mary on a Cross" Live Music Video

Occult-rockers share pro-shot footage of their runaway TikTok hit

Like it or not, Ghost's most popular song now is "Mary on a Cross." The occult-rock band's 2019 track was the soundtrack for a viral Stranger Things TikTok over the summer, and since then it's taken off on the Gen Z-focused app and become a streaming sensation. It's currently their most frequently played song on Spotify, and earlier this week it even debuted on the Billboard Hot 100.

The youths love Ghost, and in a gesture of kindness to all the fans who found the band through that song (or have loved it since it dropped, since it is a great track), the band helmed by Tobias Forge have shared an official "live" version of "Mary on a Cross" that was professionally recorded at a gig in Tampa earlier this year.

"Here's a song that my papa used to sing, actually," Forge says while introducing the track onstage, to which the crowd responds with legions of high-pitched cheers. From there, the video shows high-quality shots of young fans singing along in between the band performing their newly-minted Hot 100 single.
