See Gun N' Roses Play Raucous Cover of Misfits' "Attitude" in 1992

"Wake up! It's time to die."

Guns N' Roses didn't record their take on the Misfits' "Attitude" until the band's 1993 covers album, "The Spaghetti Incident?", but they had been playing the un-P.C., sub-two-minute ripper live as early as 1991's Use Your Illusion tour, with the group's bassist and resident punk rocker Duff McKagan taking lead vocals. One particularly raucous rendition took place the following year when the band hit the Tokyo Dome in Japan, a show captured on GN'R's Use Your Illusion World Tour - 1992 in Tokyo I VHS/DVD release.

Fortunately, for all of us lacking in VHS or DVD players, clips from the live concert film — originally recorded by Japan Satellite Broadcasting, Inc. for broadcast on their channel — have made their way onto YouTube, including GN'R's no-holds-barred tear through "Attitude." "To use the words of my friend Axl: 'Wake up! It's time to die," McKagan says by way of introduction before launching into the tune, which he punctuates with cries of "Bitch!" throughout. Watch above.
