Country star teases upcoming rock album

Country hit-maker HARDY is prepping a rock album, and today he dropped its lead single, fittingly called "ROCKSTAR." The catchy, tongue-in-cheek anthem name-drops Nickelback while its music video sees HARDY impersonating Nirvana's Kurt Cobain, Limp Bizkit's Fred Durst, AC/DC's Angus Young, Queen's Freddy Mercury and other famous rock icons.

Watch and listen above.

"'ROCKSTAR' is my 'REDNECKER' for rock 'n roll. I feel like it's the first rock song I've released that doesn't take itself seriously and the music video follows suit," HARDY commented. "Some of my favorite music videos from back in the day were the ones that showed humor, so here's my tip of the hat to that. Enjoy."

No official release date has been announced for HARDY's forthcoming, as-yet-untitled rock album, but he has promised it before the kickoff of his 2024 tour — which is set for late May. Stay tuned.
