See Inside Slipknot-Themed Haunted "Slaughterhouse" Attraction in Iowa

M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan: "It really is going to be a moment in our history"

"At the Slaughterhouse, the people are the pigs. We are processing you, so we set you up, we de-hair you, we incinerate you, then we run you through," says owner Ian Miller of Des Moines, Iowa's terrifying Slaughterhouse Halloween attraction. This year's shudder-worthy motif is based on Iowa's most famous heavy metal export, Slipknot, complete with segments of the house based directly on lyrical themes taken from the band's catalog.

During a walk-through video courtesy of the Des Moines Register, Miller gives prospective visitors a taste of what's to come upon entering the chilling scene. Mangled half-bodies writhing in horror (in a Slipknot tee shirts, naturally) and blood-covered shower walls await fans at the end of eerie, dim hallways lined with creepy portraits. Standard haunted house fare like cobwebs and severed animal heads abound as well, guaranteeing thrill-seekers will get the full terror treatment upon arrival.

The 10,000 square-foot is open now through October 28th with a final walk-through on Halloween night, and will run guests a $20 admission fee, $30 for those who want to skip the line. Percussionist M. Shawn "Clown" Crahan told the Register, "It's all about the fans... It's all about a special experience, making it one-on-one, almost. It really is going to be a moment in our history, in their history. And our history in Des Moines." Slaughterhouse is expecting a 50% increase in guests this year, shooting from 8,000 in 2017 to an estimated 12,000 this year.
