Alice in Chains and Heart members united for poignant rendition of Soundgarden hit at Rock Hall of Fame

At the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony on Saturday (April 15th), Heart's Ann Wilson and Alice in Chains guitarist Jerry Cantrell teamed up for a stripped-down take on "Black Hole Sun," Soundgarden's classic cut from 1994's Superunknown, which they played in tribute to Chris Cornell. The Soundgarden and Audioslave singer died from suicide last year at age 52.

"Our town's not that big. Everybody kept an eye on what [Soundgarden] were doing. And it was inspiring," Cantrell told Rolling Stone shortly after Cornell's death. "He was always so honest, from the moment I met him," the Alice in Chains bandleader continued. "And there's a power in sharing your weakness with the people who need to hear that, so they can consider, 'Fuck, that guy's dealing with it.' You don't feel so alone."
