See Kid Shred "Master of Puppets" on Street, Metallica Approve

Young guitar-slinger impressed his heroes with mind-blowing cover
Metallica kid shreds master of puppets split

Metallica's "Master of Puppets" is a global phenomenon right now. Since the 1986 thrash-terpiece appeared in season four of Netflix's Stranger Things, the track has seen an unexpected resurgence in pop culture that's introduced a whole new generation of young music fans to Metallica.

Now, you can be out on for a stroll on the bustling streets of Cardiff, Wales, and come upon a middle-school-age kid shredding fantastically to "Master of Puppets," which is what happened to one TikTok user who posts as "fixer17d." The person saw a young guitar-slinger casually covering the virtuosic song with the utmost perfection, so they shot it on video, threw it on TikTok, and earned the approval of Metallica themselves.

After the video went viral, Metallica jumped into the comments and dropped an affirming devil horns emoji. So not only did the star of the video get to perform for the internet to see, but his heroes even came in to give him props. Amazing.

@fixer17d Out in Cardiff and saw a kid plug in his #paulgilbert signature and thought I’d stick around. Did not expect to stay there with my jaw on the floor while he hammered out Master of Puppets flawlessly! #larsulrich #kirkhammett #jameshetfield #robtrujillo #metallica #metal #guitar #masterofpuppets #cardiff #busker #paulgilbert #strangerthings #rock #music #shred #solo #kids #kid original sound - joshblockwell
