Former frontman also sang "Signal Fire" with current KSE vocalist Jesse Leach

Last night in Pittsburgh, Killswitch Engage kicked off their lengthy tour with August Burns Red and Light the Torch, the band fronted by ex-Killswitch singer Howard Jones. After initially being announced way back in 2019, the trek was derailed multiple times by the pandemic, but now it's finally happening . Even better, the special treat Killswitch fans were hoping for has also become a reality: Jones reuniting with his former bandmates to sing some songs from his time in the band.

During last night's set, Jones temporarily replaced current (and original) Killswitch singer Jesse Leach at the front of the stage and absolutely slayed the vocals for "Rose of Sharyn" and "The End of Heartache," the latter being the title-track for Jones' most notable album with the band. Those two are the standard Jones-era Killswitch cuts, but he also belted alongside Leach for the track "Signal Fire" from the band's 2019 album Atonement — a song that featured Jones on the recorded version as well and finally put to bed any uneasy feelings between the two singers.
