See KITTIE debut crushing new song "Vultures" at Sick New World

Their first piece of new music in 12 years

Kittie were one of many nu-metal vets who flocked to Las Vegas over the weekend for Sick New World fest. With headlining sets from System of a Down, Korn, Deftones and Incubus, and a high-profile reunion performance from Coal Chamber, the event was filled with nostalgic reverence for nu-metal's yesteryear, but Kittie used their time onstage to look forward.

The band's set featured plenty of songs from their iconic 1999 debut, Spit, and other tracks from throughout their career, but they also busted out a brand new song called "Vultures."

A recorded version of the tune hasn't been released or announced yet, but its existence signals that Kittie are gearing up to drop their first music in 12 years, following 2011's I've Failed You album. And from what "Vultures" sounds like live — a groovy, scream-laden, metal churner — Kittie are still as heavy as they've ever been.

Watch their whole Sick New World set above via YouTube, and skip to the 10:22 mark to see them play "Vultures."
