See Korn Play Raging "Faget" With Jonathan Davis in Garters, Thigh Highs in 1993

Band's demo 'Neidermayer's Mind' was less than two weeks old

On October 30th, 1993, Korn played one of their first and most striking performances: a gig at hallowed Huntington Beach, California punk venue Club 5902 held on October 30th, 1993, held a few months after the band's inception.

Korn's buzz-worthy demo tape, Neidermayer's Mind, was less than two weeks old when the nu-metal pioneers took the stage — dressed in their their Halloween costumes, no less — to tear through early highlights like "Blind," "Predictable" and "Molested" (a prototype version of "My Gift to You," which eventually appeared on 1998's breakout album Follow the Leader). By the time they got around to "Faget," Korn's "fuck you" to bullies and heavy-metal machismo, Davis had stripped down to garters and thigh highs — a defiant move that, coupled with his explosive vocal performance, made for one hell of a finale. Check it out now, and watch the set in all its wild, transgressive glory below.
