See Korn Take on Online Voyeurism, Tech Addiction in New "Can You Hear Me" Video

'The Nothing' standout gets provocative visual

As singer Jonathan Davis told us when we interviewed him about both Korn's landmark self-titled album and the group's most recent LP, The Nothing, the alt-metal veterans' recent single "Can You Hear Me" was originally a solo song that he wrote in 2014. Then his Korn bandmates got ahold of it. "My version of it was more synth-Eighties," he revealed. "They did an amazing job."

Today (March 20th), the group unveiled the new music video for the song, which was directed by Adam Mason, who also helmed Korn's forthcoming six-part anthology podcast series, also titled The Nothing. The "Can You Hear Me" visual explores themes of internet voyeurism, smartphone addiction and psychological obsession, and features emoji-punctuated texts intercut with footage of the band performing on a wall of televisions as a hooded onlooker observes them.

Assuming coronavirus restriction don't derail their plans, Korn have a big summer ahead of them, including two stadium shows with System of a Down, Faith No More, Helmet and Russian Circles, scheduled for May 22nd and 23rd at Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles. Then the band is set to hit the road on an extensive North American tour with FNM — see the full routing below.
