Andreas Kisser and Derrick Green joined nu-metal pioneers for collab at Monsters of Rock

There's no question that Korn were a heavy influence on Sepultura's turn toward nu-metal on 1996's Roots. Max Cavalera's final album with the Brazilian band was a novel mesh of thrash, tribal music and the type of nu-metal that the Bakersfield, CA, boys had pioneered a couple years earlier. That doesn't mean that Korn couldn't get down with Sepultura's runaway hit, "Roots Bloody Roots," and in 2013, they managed to cover the track live at Monsters of Rock with current Sepultura members Andreas Kisser and Derrick Green.

As video of the performance shows, Korn were naturally attuned to the song's deep, bellowing groove and played the song perfectly while also mixing in their signature bass clacks and scritch-scratchy guitar noise. The Sepultura guys added a nice boost to the overall impact, but Jonathan Davis was a force on the mic here as well. Watch the epic crossover go down above via YouTube.
