Jonathan Davis faced demons onstage before 50,000 fans

In 2014, Korn celebrated the 20th anniversary of their classic self-titled debut by playing the album in full on tour. In the U.S., they performed in clubs to intimate crowds of diehard fans, but in Europe the following summer, they hit the festival circuit, including France's famous Hellfest. There, Jonathan Davis and Co. tore through Korn's 12-song tracklist onstage in front of 50,000 metalheads, culminating in harrowing closer "Daddy," a deep cut that the band had rarely played live before the anniversary run.

It's a stunning performance, with Davis clearly dredging up some serious personal demons. And it's all the more momentous considering that it will probably never be repeated: The singer has since stated that he doesn't want to sing "Daddy" ever again.

"I felt like I robbed the world of doing that live for so long," he recently told Metal Hammer. "I felt like I owed it to our fans that were hardcore enough to come and see us on the 20th anniversary of that album, but I don't wanna do it again.

"Going out and touring that record, I realized how dark it is — it's some depressing shit. As we got into [1998's] Follow the Leader, it became more about groove. The emotion was there, but it wasn't that particular darkness we captured on that first record."
