In September 2020, Lacuna Coil performed their latest album, 2019's Black Anima, in its entirety during a special livestream event. Later this week, the Italian metal outfit will release the whole set, titled Live From the Apocalypse, in a variety of digital and physical formats.
Today (June 21st), they've given fans one final taste by sharing emotional footage of them performing the six-minute epic, "Veneficium." The song features operatic harmonies, soaring highs from singer Cristina Scabbia, crushing lows from other vocalist Andrea Ferro, a momentous guitar solo and a neck-snapping groove. It also has a relevant message behind it.
"'Veneficium' is the painful and fierce scream that rises from the darkness," commented Cristina Scabbia said of the song's meaning. "Another day has born and has new hope in it, the poison inside has been defeated and a new refreshed and healed life can start again,"
