Band set to drop first record without founding drummer Chris Adler

Last year, Lamb of God had fans' jaws on the floor when they announced that they had split with drummer Chris Adler. The brother of guitarist Willie Adler, who's still in the band, Chris had been one of the cornerstones of the Virginian metal leaders since their earliest days, so it's perfectly reasonable for diehards to wonder what an album without him will sound like. The answer to that burning question will come in 2020, when the group is set to drop the full-length follow-up to 2015's VII: Sturm und Drang LP and 2016's The Duke EP, both of which saw singer Randy Blythe embracing clean vocals more than ever. (In 2018, the band also released, under their original name Burn the Priest, the covers album Legion: XX to celebrate the 20th anniversary of BTP's one and only record and to hail their formative inspirations.) The hype campaign for LOG's ninth LP kicked off in the new year with a stark black-and-white video teaser featuring footage of the group — including their new full-time drummer Art Cruz (Winds of Plague, Prong) — hard at work in the studio. Watch it below.
