See Linkin Park Play Feral Cover of Deftones' "My Own Summer (Shove It)" in 2002

Chester goes full-on Chino

"What I wanna know is are there any Deftones fans in the house?" That's what Linkin Park co-vocalist Mike Shinoda asks a crowd of screaming fans before he and his bandmates launched into "My Only Summer (Shove It)" at a show in 2002. By that point, the Deftones standout from 1997's Around the Fur had only existed for a few years, but it clearly had already had an impact on Linkin Park's emotionally piercing take on nu-metal.

Naturally, Chester Bennington and Shinoda's voices were perfectly suited for the scream-sing dynamics of Chino's vocal parts, and the rest of the band held down the instrumentation without missing a beat. It's a super tight Deftones cover, but Linkin Park-ified in a way only they were capable of doing — which means the energy was positively feral.
